ECC Division II Official Rules
- 2 cornhole boards each 2ft x 4ft are positioned 27ft apart from front to front of the board. A total of 8 cornhole bags; 4 per team
- Flip a coin, flip a bag or rock paper scissors to decide a winner. The winner gets to choose the side of the board to throw from and also throws first
- Teammates must be directly across from one another (no criss-cross)
- When playing doubles and playing a best of three match, for game two switch sides with your opponent. Your partner and his/her partner switch sides too.
- There’s an invisible foul line in front of the board
- Alternate throws until all bags are thrown
- 3 points if the bags goes in the hole. 1 point if the bag is on the board
- The approved method of scoring for the sport of cornhole is “cancellation” scoring. In cancellation scoring, the points of one player cancel out the points of their opponent. Using this method, only one player/team can score in each frame. For example, if team A has one bag in the hole and Team B has one on the board then the scoring would be 3 - 1 = 2. Team A is leading 2 - 0 and Team A throws first next frame
- First team to 21 or greater is the winner. It’s ok to win 24 - 12. There’s no win by 2 and there’s no going down to 15.
- If a bag hits the ground before landing on the board, it’s a dead bag, remove it before the next throw
- It’s ok to hit another bag off the board or in the hole, all fair game
- When playing best of three, winner of game one goes first for game two
- Have fun!
